While growing up in Mexico in Atolinga, Zacatecas, I was surrounded by arts and crafts. From aunts teaching me to embroider and use color to convey a visual concept, grandmothers passing down intricate weaving techniques, my father learning how to play the guitar and accordion, or observing my mom’s imaginative ways of decorating cakes at her cake shop. Art and expression opened the door to my self-expression and the pursuit of a creatively focused career.
Visual design is a form of communication that transcends languages and cultures and touches the audience on an emotional level. Therefore, my approach to both art direction and graphic design is to understand the target audience and the client’s key message, in order to accurately create aesthetic environments that connect with the audience.
